This is not just any eclipse. Europe hasn't seen this since 1999.

The last total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe occurred in 1999. An entire generation has never seen one. On August 12, northern Spain, Iceland, and Greenland will see totality. Across the UK, France, Ireland, Italy and beyond, more than 90% of the Sun will be covered.

For most people in Europe, this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will cross the skies above Europe. The first in 27 years.

‼️👀 Wear certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses for the whole partial phase.

90.5% of the Sun is covered, but this is not totality. A partial eclipse never turns day to night, and eclipse glasses stay on the entire time. To witness real totality, you have to be inside the path.
